Valor Strategies teaches hands‑on self‑defense skills designed for real‑world situations – not theory, not fear‑based tactics, and not gimmicks. Our small‑group courses focus on offensive movement, situational awareness, and personal empowerment, grounded in the SPEAR System and shaped by what people actually go through.

We don’t teach from a pedestal. We teach from experience.

What We Do

Valor Strategies offers mobile, small‑group self‑defense training across the Pacific Northwest. We come to you – homes, offices, community spaces, gyms, retreat centers – wherever your group feels safest learning.

Our courses are designed for:

  • Friends and families

  • Colleagues and professional teams

  • Community groups

  • Anyone who wants practical self‑defense skills in a supportive, respectful environment
     

This training is female‑empowered, trauma‑informed, and inclusive, but not exclusively for women. If you’ve ever felt vulnerable, uncertain, or underprepared to protect yourself or others, this course is for you.

What You'll Learn

In a single, immersive session, you’ll build skills you can use immediately:
 

  • Situational awareness and boundary recognition

  • Managing fear and stress responses

  • Offensive strikes and movements for close‑range threats

  • Breaking holds and creating space

  • Using your voice, posture, and presence as tools

  • Decision‑making under pressure
     

This is not about winning fights.
 

It’s about protecting yourself, escaping danger, and reclaiming confidence.

Our Approach

We use principles from the SPEAR System, a science‑based approach that works with your natural stress responses instead of against them.
 

That means:
 

  • Training your body to respond under pressure
     

  • Simple, effective movements you can actually remember
     

  • Offensive actions designed to create safety and escape,  not prolonged fights
     

No athletic background required. No prior experience needed.

This isn’t generic self‑defense training.
